SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS

Monday July 6, 10:00am-12:00pm

$20 per child, ages 6-12

Have you ever wanted to see your artwork up in a shop? In this hands-on workshop we’ll guide students through sketching designs that they’ll then paint on our shop windows! Work with Story Garden owners and art teachers Sharon and Naomi. Students will also work on a craft to take home.

Wednesday July 8, 10:00am-12:00pm

$25per child, ages 5-10

Work with visual artist Naomi Crew to create a beautiful nature-inspired painting on canvas, to take home at the end of the workshop. All materials will be supplied, along with a hot chocolate from the cafe at RoseyRavelston. Please note in your booking if you have any dietary restrictions.

Want to get a head start on your Book Week or Halloween costume? Or do you just love playing dress-ups? Come make a costume with the assistance of Sharon Baldwin, co-owner of Story Garden. We’ll provide all materials for making masks, capes, headbands, props and other accessories.

Join local illustrator Emily Naudi for a hands-on art workshop. Students will learn drawing and watercolour paint technique and create custom portraits of their pets! In addition to their portraits, students will get to take home a set of watercolour paints and paper so they can continue their art-making at home!

Join Lawson local Antony Mann – author, filmmaker and dungeon master – for this one-day Dungeons and Dragons campaign. A great introduction to D&D for those who are new to tabletop role-playing games.

A weekly program for preschoolers and homeschoolers and their parent/caretaker. Each week we’ll read stories and offer crafts and sensory play around different weekly themes related to nature/gardening/the environment. We’ll also engage children and families in our new children’s garden patch.

Is your child the next Dav Pilkey? Learn how to create dynamic characters and lay out a graphic novel in this weekly workshop. We’ll read and discuss our favourite comics and work towards creating our own!

For homeschooling kids aged 8-12. Learn how to create dynamic characters and lay out a graphic novel in this weekly workshop. We’ll read and discuss our favourite comics and work towards creating our own! Parents/carers are welcome to drop-off or stay.

Ghost stories, murder mysteries, and more! Learn how to craft spooky and spine-tingling tales alongside the editor of “The Lost Ghosts of Lawson”. Your child’s story may be published in our end-of-year anthology.

Want to work with a professional illustrator and learn how to tell stories visually? In this weekly workshop Naomi will work with students to develop both their storytelling and drawing techniques. You’ll create a picture book of your very own!
